What made you want to become a Physical Therapist?
When I shadowed at Sportscare in Nutley, an outpatient facility in my town, I fell in love with the idea of being able to give someone back their life. We go about our days without really thinking about the importance of movement in our lives and how much of an impact it can make when it gets taken away. Physical Therapists assist and give back the functionality lost to an injury, surgery, etc. and the fulfillment that came with seeing how much a patient can progress with guided exercise and the joy it brought to people made me realize that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
How do you think this program has helped you prepare for graduate school?
This program has helped me prepare by giving me a solid outline of courses to follow and it has workshops that become stepping stones towards my goal of becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
A fun fact about me is that I love to sing, act, dance, play instruments, game, learn, exercise, and I was born in the Philippines and immigrated to the US 4 years ago!
